This slimey rock smells interesting! A young black bear forages for remnents of the salmon run at Thornton Creek near Ucluelet B.C.

Just couldn't resist this shot. The sign reads "Bears walk on this walkway be aware that you could meet one". Well, there's the one!
Polite Black Bear
Photographed this young black bear today at Thornton Creek near Ucluelet on the west coast of the island. He was very gentle and would often let people get out of the way before moving as not to cause confrontation. Pretty smart guy!
