Airshows Airshows » Abbotsford Airshow 2015Dorsal ViewHere is another image of the De Havalland Mosquito flying left to right along the show line. Just couldn't get enough shots of this lovely warbird. Like all rarities that fly, you never know if and when you will ever see one again so get the shot while you can.De Havilland MosquitoI was trying a new technique this time around. I used a neutral density filter to slow down the shutter speed in bright light in order to blur the propellers. Seemed to work OK but I had to hand hold and take lots of shots just to get a couple like this one. Don't think I could do much better at my present level of expertise with aviation photography. Not to mention that the light is always brutal as regards flight photography at Abbotsford. This particular aircraft is one of only two flight worthy Mosquitos in the world. It was restored in Victoria B.C.Dream TeamIn this image the Super Marine Spitfire, Mosquito, and P51-B Mustang in formation. Something that you won't see every day, if ever.Behold The Beautiful Spitfire!I am always excited to see the old war birds at the airshow. Got every one this year except for the Hurricane which missed the show due to mechanical problems. Maybe next time.Look Out! Stay tuned, more pics to follow.Mustang P51-BGot to go on the "hot side" early on Saturday morning so had a chance for some unrestricted shooting. This is a rare bird. Seems to be lots of P51-D's around but it's not every day that you see one of these. One of the earlier versions of the Mustang.Day Out With DadHere is one of the many photos that I did not get to post from the Abbotsford airshow a couple of weeks back. My friend Dan and his two daughters in front of the Mosquito.Heritage FlightHere is this year's heritage flight with the P51-D Mustang and F-22 Raptor.Aircraft Photographer's DreamFrom left to right: B-17 Flying Fortress, Harvard, Thunderbolt, Supermarine Spitfire, and the nose of the Val-Halla P51-D Mustang.
