Here is an image of an SE5-A 7/8 scale replica doing a pass over the show line. Amazing how far we have come in just a few decades as regards advancements in flight.

Cutting The Ribbon
Flying in the inverted one of the stunt pilots at the Abbotsford International Airshow cuts ribbons on a string just a few feet off of the ground.

You never know what you are going to run into at the Abbotsford Airshow. Here is a WestJet passenger plane with a motif from the Frozen movie painted on it.

What can I say? I love these guys. Here they fly with their aircraft carrier hooks and landing gear down in a slow pass in front of the show line.

Ace Maker II (T-33 Shooting Star)
We used to watch these type of jets when we were kids. They would have them painted dayglow red or black and in those days they were referred to as the red knight or the black knight. They were usually the feature performer but sometimes used as the warm up act for the Golden Hawks. I am probably dating myself by saying this but there are undoubtedly a few people out there that remember way back then.

Lighting proved to be a bit problematic as regards photos yesterday at the Abbotsford Airshow. Got a few good pics though and quite enjoyed the show anyway. More to follow once I have done some editing.

Blue Angels Solo Performers
First appearance of the Blue Angels at Abbotsford Airshow in 15 years. Hard to believe it has been that long. This image has about the best light of any of the ones I took of the Blue Angels on the weekend. Lighting was brutal and lots of haze and smoke from both the performers and local forest fires.

Sea King CH-124 Helicopter
This was apparently the last demo flight of the aging Sea King helicopter. It is to be replaced later this year by the new and improved Cyclone CH-148.
