Surprise Visitor (Red-Tailed Hawk)
This juvenile red-tailed hawk decided to drop in and terrorize the mallards while we were shooting at the swamp today. Didn't seem particularly afraid of us as he was landing at times within 20 feet.
More Friendly Red Tails
Lots of red-tailed hawks out at the estuary today. Here is one of the better images. Taken hand held from the viewing platform at 840mm.
Chase River Red Tail
More red-tailed hawks yesterday over the Chase River Timmy's. The people in the parking lot thought I was nuts hand holding my 600mm for this shot.
Hawk Migration
Here is a picture of one of the six red-tailed hawks that were circling over a farmer's field on Jinglepot Road today. Not sure but they could be part of the fall hawk migration. The timing is about right.

There was a bit more red-tailed hawk activity out at the estuary today. A bit chilly but lovely weather all the same. Still no short-eared owls though. What a difference from last year!

Sorry about this one. Got so excited at this guy coming close out at the estuary that I darn near cut the wing tip off.
