Not much around to shoot so I went back down to Wheatcroft Park today for some more flight shot practice. The even light made it easier to control the whites.
First of The Season Bufflehead Duck
Went down to the local runway yesterday and had some fun with the bufflehead ducks. Used the 2X extender. Seemed to work pretty good.
Sunny Day Bufflehead Duck
The buffleheads chose to swim into the lagoon today instead of flying in like usual. Had small rafts of them with up to 20 birds in a group. An unusual behaviour with me standing only feet away on the beach.

Lovely sunny day today but very cold north wind. Didn't seem to keep the birds down though. Lots of action at Wheatcroft Park.

Tricky light today at Pipers Lagoon but I did my best to get a clear image of this male bufflehead duck. It was a bit harsh at times but it really brought out some of the colors that you wouldn't normally see on an overcast day.
