Hooded Merganser Female in Flight
Today, I captured a moment at Foothills Marsh in Nanaimo where both a male and female bird flew in close proximity. However, it was impossible to focus on both simultaneously. I had a mere three seconds to photograph either one in focus at any given time, all while managing a phone call. It was certainly a challenging multitasking feat.

Hooded Merganser Portrait
Funny, when I first started out in digital photography you couldn't get within 200 feet of these guys. Now both them and the wood ducks come right in close. Had to take the teleconverter off and this hoodie was still too close to get the whole bird in the frame so I had to make a portrait image out of it.

Brookwood Male Merganser
Would have liked a bit more light to allow a faster shutter speed on this image. Pretty dull today. Taken hand held at 400mm.
